Is Horse Sense for you?
We want to make sure that all our clients get the maximum impact from this unique coaching experience and will conduct a pre-course telephone consultation with you prior to the experience to assess your suitability and discuss the outcomes that you would like to achieve. 1. Do you want to attend training with a group of people? Horse Sense can be both a 1-1 or group coaching programme depending on the needs of our clients. This means that you will work totally on your own agenda, or that of your business. We can accommodate pairs so why not come along with a friend or colleague? 2. Are you happiest being an observer rather than having a ‘hands-on’ experience? You will be working directly with the horses, so this is a very practical, hands - on learning experience. We will of course break you in gently to each task, ensuring you are comfortable at each stage before moving on. 3. Are you looking for emotional support or someone to tell you what to do with your life or work choices? We help you work things out for yourself. Coaching isn’t counselling and it isn’t training. The horses (and our human coach) will help you come to your own realisations. The responsibility for taking action as a result of the course also lies with you. We can facilitate your learning and transformation - but only you can turn that into reality. |
First, let's answer the most common questions: 1. Do I ride the horses? No. Horse Sense does not involve riding the horses. You will work with the horse on the ground, performing some simple activities, under very close supervision. 2. Do I need to have experience of horses? No. It really doesn’t matter at all whether you have experience of horses or not. Either way, the programme works well. 3. What if I am frightened of horses? That’s OK! We are very used to helping clients feel comfortable around horses. We will introduce you to the horses and show you how to approach them safely. We will often let you choose the one you want to work with – and we have different shapes and sizes to select from. If at any time you don’t feel happy, you can stop the session straight away. 4. Is it safe? Horses are flight animals – and they weigh a lot. That’s why we have put in the following measures to ensure you stay safe the whole time you are with us: a) A full safety briefing is conducted first b) Mobile phones and other electronic devices must be switched off. Any distraction that takes your attention away can be dangerous. c) Safety equipment (PPE) will be available for loan. Our horses don’t kick or bite and whilst it is highly unlikely that you will get trodden on, we want to make sure that even the smallest risk of injury is prevented. We can provide hard hats, steel toe capped boots and gloves. d) You can feel safe in the knowledge that you are in the capable hands of not just some outstanding coaches but also very experienced horse people too. |
